Absorb Apply Rercord
If the three-legged-stool cliché applies anywhere, it applies to extracting maximum value from the Sales Knowledge Xchange. All three of the components shown are essential.

First, the traditional part – A never-ending quest to absorb new knowledge will always be essential. Seek it aggressively. Practice creative abrasion. Challenge yourself. Question your opinions. Expand and enrich your personal knowledgebase using SKX and the vast array of other available resources.
Knowledge one absorbs without applying, testing and improving it, however, is less than useless. Why waste time acquiring knowledge for no purpose? Absorbing concepts is necessary certainly, but not sufficient. Test each new idea in the real world, then learn more from that experience. This leads to the critical step in the SKX process – or more accurately the critical step in your own personal self-improvement process.
If when you apply some bit of newly acquired knowledge it works, record the experience in SKX. If it doesn't work, record the experience in SKX. If it partially works, record the experience in SKX. By “record” I mean write it and/or podcast it and/or make a video of it. There is NO better way to learn something than to be put in the position of clearly communicating – that is, teaching - it to someone else. Keep Albert Einstein's observation in mind, "You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother." After you've recorded your experience in SKX and edited it enough to be genuinely proud of it, you’ll be able to explain it to Grandma.
Keep cycling through this absorb - apply - record process until you have achieved perfection. In other words, until… well – you get the point.
